Consumed by Heat and Triviality

We are islands in a world of triviality.   Charles Bukowski says it better:

We’re all going to die, all of us, what a circus! That alone should make us love each other but it doesn’t. We are terrorized and flattened by trivialities, we are eaten up by nothing.” – Charles Bukowski.

The VA accounting Bureaucracy is a case in point.

But I see people’s lives affected by this every day.  The qualify for this, they don’t qualify for that.   The expect one another’s tastes to be aligned with theirs.

In the Navy, we used to call it “Chicken Shit” for a lack of a better word.

However, other people must see this too, and it’s like a piece of dog poop you got to watch out for, you got to step over.

In Northeast, people’s A/C units are crapping out all over the place, and people got to cope with the heat.   The prices of used units on Craigslist are going UP.  The homeless, booted out on the street are looking for a place to survive.  They are a bunch of bums, but they are beasts that are suffering.

People have hardened attitudes, and would rather quarrel than solve problems.  This is why it is sometimes dangerous to take in a homeless person.  You are afraid of being the target of built up resentment, anger that has hardened into hate.

Institutions are just filled with trivialities.  They are so scared of being ripped off.  “Better to be fooled 30 times than to let 1 man go hungry.”- Charlie Chan.

We have to overcome the world,  we have to overcome ourselves!  In fact, overcoming our self seems the harder part.

Life’s getting more complicated every day.
