Shepherd’s Pie

Humble Shepherd’s Pie.    I had been wanting to try Shepherd’s pie for a long time.  I found quite a few recipes on Allrecipes.com.  I decided to try this one..and it turned out quite a winner.  I will make this again and again.

What is Shepherd’s pie?  A layer of meat on the bottom, then a layer of vegetables, then a layer of mashed potatoes on top.  Then it is baked in the oven for 20-30 minutes, depending on ingredients.

I used the above recipe.  Started the potatoes boiling.  Then ground turkey made in a skillet.  Then I made the gravy from a Southeast Mills Turkey gravy mix.   Threw the cooked ground turkey in the gravy as it was thickening. This stuff is a game changer mixed with the ground turkey.  It makes it good!  Any vegetable can be used for the filling.  I cut up 3 stalks of celery, mixed it with the other vegetables,  and I must say that made it good.

I’m eating some now, with some fresh Larry the Cable Guy Beer Bread, which I baked slightly too long, but it is very good.
