Charles Bukowski

Boy he’s great.. here’s a great one.  He was a drunkard, and made no bones about it.  How did he make it?  I see the drunkards and dope heads just get their ass beat around here,  and often wind up dead.   The weak, just keep gettin’ weaker.  But there is no denying it, he had a way with words.   Jeez his stuff is great.

“Human relationships didn’t work anyhow. Only the first two weeks had any zing, then the participants lost their interest. Masks dropped away and real people began to appear: cranks, imbeciles, the demented, the vengeful, sadists, killers. Modern society had created its own kind and they feasted on each other. It was a duel to the death–in a cesspool.”

Charles Bukowski, Women

“We don’t even ask happiness, just a little less pain.”
Charles Bukowski

More of his quotes, here.

Well,  I also like Marianne Willamson, who is at the opposite end of the pole maybe.   But tonight,  I am in a “Charles Bukowski” mood. There are so many schools of thoughts, so many minds in the world.. who knows WHO is “right”. The one trait that people seem to share is selfishness. I suppose that is right.
